Portal Secret Santa is an event where you fill out a questionnaire that’ll help us match you to a fellow participant. You make a present for the person you’re assigned to, and they make a present for someone else. So it’s kinda like a chain of Portal gift-giving. And any Portal fan, regardless of how old or new you are to the fandom, is welcome to participate.
That sounds like fun! Where do I sign up?
If you would like to participate in this festive holiday gift exchange, please fill out an application by clicking here. This year, the application will be done via a Google form so we don’t have to worry about tumblr’s voracious appetite for important asks. We don’t want anyone to lose their chance at participating because of a technical error.
Cool! When will I know who I’m making a present for?
At this time, I can’t really say. It all depends on how fast I can get you all paired up and how fast you get your applications in.
Surely there’s a method and deadline for giving our gifts. What can you tell me about that?
At this point, the details are still being worked out, but I promise to get this information to you as fast as possible.
How can I help this get on its feet?
It’d be super cool if you’d reblog this. That way, there’s a bigger chance that everyone in the fandom will see it. The more people involved, the better an experience it’ll be!
**Please submit your form by Wednesday, November 13, 2013. At 12.01am on the 14th, the form will stop accepting submissions.**
Oh oh oh! Maybe it will give me motivation to draw again :D
So I got back to uni, to finish what I started. To continue my work I had to write to our dean asking for expanding the deadline for giving in my thesis.
So the dean agreed. They expanded my deadline to 20th of December…. So I have 2 months to write 50+ pages of something that doesn’t have any specified title yet.
I’ve talked with my patron. We decided to scratch our previous work because it takes too damn long to finish. Now we’ll be incubating corn tissues in medium with heavy metals (Cd, Pb etc.) and checking accumulation of these metals in these tissues. Sounds fun, easy and fast. But I don’t think I will be able to finish before Christmas. I hope they let me to move the deadline a bit further without bigger consequences.
So I’ve been replaying Dragon Age Origins in my spare time (which is not much.. sometimes it’s 15 minutes or half an hour).
It took me only 3 weeks to get to Lothering… just wow… at this pace I will finish this game in a year. And there’s Dragon Age 2 waiting afterwards.
Besides that. After a few years since last playing it, I still enjoy it so much. Now I see how much work and writing was put into every detail in this game. Even the cutscenes are nicely done. When I saw Matt playing DA2 some time ago I could compare those two games.. and oh boy I didn’t realize how poorly animation in the cutscenes was made in DA2 compared to DAO.
DAO will always be one of my favourite games of all time. Can’t say if it’s my top favourite, because I there are so much more games I love equally.
Can’t wait for Dragon Age 3. I hope they won’t dissapoint me after DA2 and Mass Effect 3 ending (the game was just perfect, the dlc saved it a bit but still I hoped for a better thought out ending). If DA3 will turn out crappy I think I’ll just stopped caring for Bioware anymore.
